With the voice of the Spaceape that comes from the heart of darkness and together with the pitch-black minimal sound scape of Kode9 these guys bring the post apocalypse sound of the urban future. They are on Hyperdub records, who also brought us Burial. Hyperdub was named dubstep label of the year in 2007 by Pitchfork. Kode9 (Steve Goodman) runs the label.

The music is rooted in dubstep & grime and travels through dub reggae, dark jungle, electronica/IDM and 90’s rave, the sound is deep! Their 2006 album “Memories Of The Future” was lauded by the critics and featured in the Wire magazine top 50 of the year.

They will be playing in the soon to be opened Trouw venue as part of the Viral Radio night. They rocked the Kleine Zaal of the Melkweg when I saw them play as part of 5 days off featival in 2007. Expect to be blasted with plenty of bass.

Gig details are here.

They will also be coming back again in April to play the Bimhuis as part of the Beat Dimensions birthday party which also features Dimlite, Hudson Mohawke, Aardvarck and Cinnaman. There will be more info on this gig on the Amsterdam Jam site soon.
